Little Life Lessons

Looking back at my younger years I remember a few life lessons my dad taught me. He would always say (and he probably still says it to this day to the people who now work under him) “failing to plan is planning to fail”. He would say this to me just before exam time to motivate me to draw up a study roster. Another thing he also said was “don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions”. I use still use this principle to this day. When life hands me a problem, the wheels in my head immediately start turning to fix the problem and find a solution. I’m sure you would all agree that these little life lessons offer great advice! The problem is, in life you can’t always plan for everything and you can’t always fix every problem that presents itself.

Recently we found ourselves in a season when our plans didn’t work out and nothing we did was able to fix the situation. (Read about how my husband lost his business and how we prayed for him for a new job in last week’s blog). All we could do was to trust our Father. The wonderful thing about being a child of God is having a heavenly Father who is a master planner and problem solver. I look at my life now and stand amazed at just how perfectly God came through and answered our prayers. Honestly - He pulled it off perfectly. Now I realize that just like my earthly daddy, my heavenly Father also taught me an invaluable life lesson. He taught me that He is always faithful and trustworthy.

Thank you Abba!!

Blessings

Nadine
