Just a sprig of Lavender

Whilst preparing for our workshop, Linking Prophecy & Creativity, God lead me to a picture of lavender that I drew two weeks prior. It was a sprig of lavender from my Mom's garden. At first I thought "Nah... I'm imagining this". I went over to my desk in order to pray for the workshop. Lo and behold, there lay

that very same lavender sprig that I drew 2 weeks ago. God was insisting on lavender...

Turns out, God gave me a word of knowledge for a lavender-loving lady attending the online workshop. As the workshop started, I asked if there is anyone who loves lavender. 3 ladies responded. I started sharing the prophetic word that God gave me around lavender:

Lavender has many uses and functions. It's first obvious function is a calming fragrance, but it can also be used in soap, baking, gardening and it is even a good insect repellent. I felt God was going to start using gifts, talents, skills and knowledge in ways that weren't that obvious.

(I always feel a little silly when sharing a prophetic word... Especially online as I cannot gauge their responses...)

All three women testified of God calling them out into new areas of creativity and prophesy. I was blown away.

The truth is, when I made that doodle I was wrestling with God. I found a prideful area in my heart and I was a bit stubborn in surrendering it. I thought to make an Instagram post of my lavender sketch with a caption on humility, but every time I wanted to post it, God would stop me. Little did I know how magnificent his purposes were with my little lavender doodle.

What about your "Lavender doodle"? That one picture/word/song/artwork/poem/business idea that God keeps bringing up. What if you surrendered it to God and let Him use it the way He wants to? Listen to the gentle quiet voice, obey and watch Him work.
