His Grace is Sufficient

Things don't always turn out as planned. Life is so uncertain, yet we make plans for everything. We have certain ideals for our future and a part of us hope that life will turn out that way. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. No matter how much we want to try and control the outcome, we aren't ever really in control. Which makes me wonder why we worry about the future so much?
In Matthew 6 Jesus addresses his disciples and says: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own". We can think of the future, but we live in the 'here and now'. There is enough grace for the 'here and now' and there will be enough grace for the 'tomorrows'.
Today, in your present moment, you might be staring a harsh reality in the eye. You might be facing a massive mountain that you feel unable to climb. And frankly it will be so much easier if God just came and removed it. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12 about a thorn in his flesh that he asked the Lord to remove. God's answer was simply that His grace is sufficient. Probably not what Paul wanted to hear. When we face trouble, we want God to say He will take it away for us. And although our Almighty Father certainly can take it away in an instant, when He doesn't, we can trust that He has another plan for us. That there is lesson our Father wants us to learn and the only way to learn it is to climb this big mountain that you are facing. And He promises us that with every step of the way He will be with us. He will carry us when we feel we can't climb anymore.
So chin up, child of God. Climb the mountain that is set before you. God is by your side and will never leave you, never forsake you. Don't worry about the future, God has a plan.
Be blessed
