“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

The winter has been long and I find myself longing for summer! In Gauteng, where I live, winter is really dry, brown and quite ugly. But thankfully we have had some warmer days which means that some trees have started to sprout little green leaves. Seasons are one of those things where we can see God’s hand in nature - we can’t do anything to speed up or delay the process, seasons will change whether we want them to or not. I look at the trees without their leaves and I realize that winter has been just as hard on them as it’s been on me. I too have lost some things in the past season. But I am sure that every tree knows that seasons don’t last forever. They know spring is coming! You can’t convince them otherwise. And they know it due to past experiences. I too know from past experiences that the current season in my life will change and that my God is faithful. Nothing lasts forever rings true (except for the love of Christ of course!). Like the winter trees I hold on to the hope that spring is around the corner.
