A season of waiting

I consider myself a patient person, but I find myself impatient in my current season.  I'm waiting for a breakthrough; an answer to my prayers.  The enemy knows that my faith is being tested and he comes at me with lies. He tries to convince me that my God won't come through for me.  Even though negative thoughts assault me on every side, I know the enemy trying to steal my joy and my peace.  I find in these moments the best thing to do is to turn to praise.

In the Psalms we find David did the same.  In his darkest moments he would declare the goodness of God.  In Psalm 42:5 he says: "Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become restless and disturbed within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.".  David encourages himself to hope in God and wait expectantly for Him.  He knows God is still good despite his circumstances.

God remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  He is still God - the maker of the universe, the creator of all things.  And nothing remains impossible for him.  So, I will keep praising Him and I will keep trusting in Him.  About a month or so ago, I knelt down by my bed and begged the Lord to bring the breakthrough speedily.  The Holy Spirit gently whispered to me:  "Trust Me".  These two simple words have been my life line these past few months.  My God is still in control and He has a plan.  My hope is in Him alone!

Be blessed
