A Psalm

The book of Psalms is such a gift to the Christian believer - in them we read about all the different emotions the writers went through in their walk of faith. It doesn’t tell us the story of the events that was going on but what the writer was feeling and experiencing emotionally. Sometimes it's a song of praise and sometimes it's a plea for help.  During any kind of mood or emotion you can find a Psalm that resonates what you are feeling. Sometimes when I don’t know what to pray for, I pick up my Bible and feel comforted by the words of David knowing that it’s okay to feel what I’m feeling.

So, I decided to write my own Psalm.  And with that, I want to challenge you today to write your own Psalm too.  Write whatever is in your heart, be honest with God and transparent.  And then when you are done, please share it with us at Bespoken Creative.

A Psalm

To God Almighty, the Maker of the universe - 

hear my cry for help. 

You who breathed the stars, 

bow down and hear my plea. 

I need you! 

Come and open the door of blessing 

and let it rain down on me. 

My life is like a desert in desperate need of your rain. 

I am waiting on You only. 

Only You can do this, 

only You have the key. 

I am tired, my body is weak but 

I still cling onto You Lord for You are my only hope. 

Come Lord, come and quiet the anxiety in my heart. 

Come and breathe Your peace into my troubled soul. 

My trust is in You alone. 

I wait on You.
