3 Lessons over 3 Years - Birthday Blog

Today is Bespoken's 3rd Birthday. 3 years ago I said "yes" to the God-given idea of Bespoken. Looking back, I can only kneel before Him and cry out Jehovah-Jireh: the Lord our Provider.

This is a testimony of how God can and will use anyone who is willing to follow Him blindly with reckless abandon.



In May of 2017 God woke me up at 01:00 in the morning with the name "Bespoken" and the words "prophetic platform". I googled the meaning of Bespoken, as I did not know what it meant and I my jaw dropped. Bespoken means to 'testify of, point to, be evidence of, showcase, indicate, be a sign of or bear witness to'.


God wanted to create a platform for prophesy that would point people to the heart of Jesus and He wanted creativity to be the link. At that time creativity was not a buzzword or as 'trendy' as social media has made it today. It was truly a word of knowledge for what was to come.


3 precious lessons that we have learnt along the way.

Lesson #1: A yielded heart that fears the Lord will obey immediately.

He did not give me the full plan with detailed descriptions. I realise that if I had waited for everything to be clear, I would still be waiting. Sometimes, you have to step out in immediate obedience and trust that God will fill in the blanks as you go along. Faith is risk. Many people did not understand what I was doing. Many rejected the idea, but I knew what God spoke to my heart. He kept giving me these subtle indications of His favour along the way, which made it easy to keep obeying.


Ephesians 3:20

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."

Lesson #2: God will equip you for what He has called you to.

I realise that I am probably the least equipped person to do this, but I said "yes" and God has provided in such magnificent details. I am a qualified Occupational Therapist. I have no art background or formal art training. BUT GOD! He brought connections and resources. Eventually He connected me with people who knew the whats and hows. My sister, Nadine, offered to help my out for my first workshop and after that, it was apparent that He had plans for her through Bespoken. He taught and comforted us in our inner rooms, which enabled us to comfort and teach others.


2 Corinthians 1:3-5

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God"


1 John 2:27

"As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him."

Lesson #3: Love is always the goal.

Jesus' love for His people is unparalleled. His Spirit is alive and active in us. He can work alone, but chooses to work through us. If we do not put our faith into action, people will go without that love and the message of Jesus. We have seen physical healing, emotional healing, testimonies of provision, breakthrough, people being filled with the Holy Spirit, new creativity being unlocked and new business ventures born. Love is the motivation. Nothing else.

Over the last 3 years we have hosted over 20 workshops. We had our first international workshops this year and kick started our online workshops during Covid19. We have had people attend from America, the Netherlands, Namibia, Austria and all over South Africa.


Last night, I prayed, and boldly asked God for more, because I know He delights in exceeding our expectations. I prayed for every member of the Bespoken Family. That we would grow in wisdom, love, revelation and God-given creativity.
